EMMA ROWE
MMP, CMT, Owner/director

Emma is not currently booking NEW clients but encourages you to book with any of our other wonderful therapists

With over 23 years practicing massage, Emmas biggest inspiration is still her daily "hands on" interaction with patients and the desire to continue learning, developing, teaching and practicing her trade. Emma is a licensed approved provider in education and the creator and director of Move.

She is the creator of the Move Medical Massage approach. Still evolving, this approach features a compilation of modalities that utilize client engagement and participation. “We are working to bridge the gap between injury and recovery where clients most often get stuck due to a lack of mobility or muscle recruitment.”

Graduating from the Sarasota School of Massage in Sarasota, Fl in 1999 she has been Nationally Board Certified,  State licensed, and practicing in Virginia ever since. She spent her first few years practicing in spa settings before progressing in the direction of Sports Therapy.  Being an athlete and avid outdoor adventurist herself, Emma began noticing the physical attributes of using more case-specific, outcome based treatments personally along with her patients. By working with an outcome in mind based on the individual patient and patient assessment she began developing her own technique.  By mixing one learned practice with another(ART, Deep Tissue massage,Assisted Stretching, Strain counter strain, etc) The positive results became obvious. Thus originating the philosophy and technique of Move Massage.

Began Move 2010; 2010-Current- Began independently contracting with UVA Athletics/Sports Medicine; 2005 Aromatherapy; 2006 Prenatal massage; 2006 Sports Massage; 2010  Medical Massage (outcome based manual therapy & special orthopedic testing); 2011 Began annual travel w/ multiple UVA teams for ACC and NCAA tournaments; 2013  Advanced Sports Massage; 2014 ART/etc w/Calla; 2016 Advanced Medical massage; 2018 M1 & M2 Graston Technique Specialist; Kenesio Tape Certified 2021; Registered and working with USA Swimming 2022, Official Therapist for USA Olympic Swim Team 2022-current.
